There is no certified AT training/education provided in Slovakia.

Slovak Blind and Partially Sighted Union

Slovak Blind and Partially Sighted Union (UNSS) is a civic organisation whose aim is to improve the quality of life of visually impaired people.
Provides the following services.

  •  Recommendations for assistive technology  funding applications
  •  Consultancy on removing barriers in the built environment.
  •  Provides information about assistive technology

Slovak hearing impairment union

Provides the following services.

  •  Helps with employment and retraining.
  •  Provides information about assistive technology.
  •  Organises sign language training.

National Rehabilitation Centre, Kováčová

Training for the physically disabled after injuries.

Access Centre of the Technical University of Košice

The university’s access centre employs Assistive Technology Specialists who assist students in assessing, evaluating, applying and using a variety of assistive technologies, computers and software.

  • Provide counselling, advisory and technical support
  • Train students in AT usage
  • Train teachers how to support AT users.
